More Than Meets the Eye
About Me
In 2010 I decided to make a life changing decision. I decided to leave my job as a logistician in the British Army where I felt secure and confident in my abilities, to embark on a new career in the Wedding and Event planning industry. I wasn't sure if I could make it work but like everything I do in life I gave it 100% and to my delight it paid off.
I have spent a large part of my life travelling, most of the places I visited or lived in were beautiful and taught me lessons in language and culture however, not all of my travels have been so enjoyable. I have spent nearly 2 years on Operational tour in Iraq and Afghanistan. During those years I was tested, pushed to my limits and forced to find out who I truly am. I don't look at this time as a negative, I am glad that I have had these experiences. I can now take what I learned under extreme tiredness and duress and use it to help others.
Shortly after I left the Army I completed a diploma in Wedding and Event Management with the UK wedding planner school and begun work as a venue wedding co-ordinator, I really enjoyed it but after a few years felt it wasn't enough. I couldn't get as involved with the couples as I wanted. I knew I had more to give so I went on to complete a business start up course, again with the UK Wedding Planner School where I gained a distinction level pass. From that Taylored Weddings was born!
I have been lucky enough to be involved with dozens of Weddings and Events. From full planning down to on the day management. I have worked at both a luxury venue and independently. I have made some fabulous industry friends and have continued to learn about myself and the world through the experiences of those who I have been fortunate enough to meet.
I am based in West Sussex and generally offer my services to couples in the Sussex, Surrey and Kent areas but I am willing to travel if needs be.
One of the highlights of my life was being invited to Buckingham Palace a week before Christmas only to find out that I would be assisting the Royal family with making Christmas Puddings. This experience is one I will remember forever and I feel honoured to be recognised in this way for my hard work and the time I have given to my country.
I did mention to a number of the family that I would be happy to plan any upcoming Weddings or Events but I am not sure I will be that lucky!!!!!!
I hope that if you have read this far you think I am the right person to help add structure and control to your wedding day, or that I am the right person to share my experiences with you so that together we can create you an amazing wedding day. I am honest, dependable and I take pride in my own high standards. If you want to know more please get in contact.
