Have you considered insurance?

So many couples don't give any thought to a wedding insurance policy!

You wouldn't drive a car with insuring it!

You wouldn't live in a house without insuring it!

Most brides wouldn't wear an engagement ring without insuring it!

So why not insure a day that is going to cost you more than any other day in your life. For as little as £20 you could cover the basic issues that are more likely to occur.

VENUE ISSUES SUPPLIER LET DOWN

Venue issues cover all manor of things. They may double book, there may be a natural disaster such as flooding or a fire, there may even by staffing issues. Whatever the reason it is not too far fetched to believe that you could end up paying a venue for your wedding day that actually doesn't go ahead through NO FAULT OF YOUR OWN.

Most problems with the venue are covered in your policy however it WILL

NOT COVER for minor issues.

Supplier let down will cover you for a vast range of things. If a supplier doesn't supply you with what you agree in your contract, or simply doesn't live up to the standard expected. If there is an accident such as your wedding cake is dropped or your wedding photography is deleted you may be entitled to a full refund.

PLEASE BE AWARE.

INSURANCE WILL NOT SORT YOUR PROBLEM OUT ON THE DAY!

IT WILL SIMPLY MAKE A BAD SITUATION LESS BAD AFTER THE FACT.

There are a few additional premiums you may wish to add. Whether you are having a marquee wedding, a large firework display, if you're using daggers or ceremony swords or if the weather turns miserable and ruins your day. These are tag ons you can make to your policy but it will be at an additional cost. We're only talking a small cost but worth it if you are having something slightly different from the norm.

BE AWARE..... WHAT IS NOT COVERED....

If you were to get cold feet the policy will NOT pay out. The decision to cancel the wedding is down to you, not through an uncontrollable circumstance. Also if you have pre-existing circumstances such as illness, a cancellation due to this will make your policy null and void.

I think the important thing to remember is to read the small print, discuss your requirements with the expert and make sure you are covered for everything you think it relevant.

Try suppliers such as Debenhams, John Lewis or even The Wedding Insurance Group. Quite often the policies will be underwritten by Hiscox who provide a thorough policy and are a reliable supplier. DO your homework but it could prove to be the best spend from your wedding budget.
